Firefighters were called to a potato plant at Easton, near Grantham, last night (Thursday).

Just after 11.20pm, two crews from Grantham attended PAS (Grantham) where a deep fat fryer was ablaze. A further two fire engines from Corby Glen and Bourne were called to provide additional manpower and foam.

Firefighters used four breathing apparatus and a hose reel to extinguish cooking oil within the fryer.

The cause was oil overheating. There was moderate fire damage to the fryer.
