Two organisations which carry out vital work with needy people in Grantham have benefitted from donations from the town’s Freemasons.

Malcolm Swinburn, of the Meridian Daylight Lodge of Freemasons, who is also chief executive of the South Lincs Blind Society, presented a cheque £500 to Andrea Meads, Services Team Leader of the charity.

He also presented a cheque for the same amount to Grantham Poverty Concern, received by volunteer Andy Maddison.

His wife Susan, who also works for SLBS, said:”The donation means a lot - it means we can carryon producing newsletters, for instance, that our service users rely on.

“We are grateful to the Freemasons for continuing to recognise local charities that are doing so much to help people in the local community.”
