A Grantham care worker was among five people recognised for their outstanding achievements and quality of care at a special awards ceremony in Lincoln this week.
Sheri Rawdon, a support worker at Apple Trees in Grantham, was presented with her award at The Orders of St John Care Trust 2014 Chairman’s Commendation Awards at Lincoln Cathedral’s Chapter House on Tuesday.
Sheri was awarded her prize not only for her dependability, loyalty and excellent relationships with the residents and their families, but also for building a close relationship with the local Brownie group, which she regularly invites to visit and interact with the residents.
Andrew Cheesbrough, Chief Executive of the trust, said: “All of our employees work extremely hard all year round, and honouring those that have really stood out during 2014 is a tremendous honour. The selfless individuals that form our care teams across the county are the backbone of the Trust, and without them, we wouldn’t be able to provide the high-quality, person-centred care we pride ourselves on delivering to our residents.”
Mr Cheesbrough added: “Our Chairman’s Commendation Awards are our way of recognising the hard work and dedication of our employees, allowing us to shine the spotlight on our very own stars.“
The other winners on the night were Tracy Creek, Senior Cook at Southfield House in Spalding, Teresa Coupland, Day Care Carer from Patchett Lodge in Holbeach, Gill Clark, Area Operations Manager, and Pete Houlden, Volunteer at Beckside in Lincoln.
