GRANTHAM College have collected a free pack of garden tools as part of a nationwide tool recycling project by The Conservation Foundation called Tools Shed.
The college received a ‘starter pack’ of garden tools to help them tend vegetable patches and green spaces.
Conservation Foundation Director, David Shreeve, said: “With more and more schools and community groups ‘growing their own’ there is a great demand for garden tools and rarely any budget.
“A recycling project that helps equip the next generation of gardeners, reduces waste and provides practical skills for detainees, seems the ideal solution.”
Through refurbishing the tools the project also allows detainees to learn valuable skills for later life and provides an opportunity for them to help the local community.
