A loved-up couple have won their dream wedding, after collecting an unbelievable 720 tokens in the Journal and Urban Hotel competition.

Jodie Smith, 27, and Ryan Jones, 29, from Harrowby Road thought it would be many more years before they’d have saved up enough money for their big day, but thanks to our ‘Win a Wedding’ competition, they are all set to get hitched on May 21, 2016.

Jodie said: “We’ve been together for three years this summer, and met in town through friends. We talked about our wedding but because of having to save up it all seemed so far away. We had to choose between a wedding and a deposit for a house, but now we don’t have to.”

On seeing our competition, beauty therapist Jodie and Ryan, an apprentice with Western Power, decided to give it a go. With the help of friends and family, along with their determination to walk down the aisle sooner rather than later, they collected an unbeatable 720 tokens.

Now they will enjoy a wedding breakfast and evening reception for 40 guests at the Urban Hotel, complete with three-course meal and overnight accommodation for the bride and groom. Kevin Turton Photography, venue dressers Make My Day, Annabella Cars, The Flower Barn, suit hire Greenwoods 1860, Baker’s Cakes and Dotty Cakes, are all providing wedding essentials too. Yet while looking forward to a gorgeous day, Jodie added: “I would have married Ryan in a shed if I’d had to!”
