Visitors to Sainsbury’s in Grantham will probably recognise the smiling faces of colleagues Emma Catterson, Margaret Ord and Vicky Jepson, regularly seen working on the counters.
However their faces have become particularly familiar to the Journal’s caricaturist Terry Shelbourne.
Emma who has worked at the Grantham branch of Sainsbury’s for six years, said: “Terry comes in every single day without fail, and sometimes two or three times. He always brightens up our day.”
Aware of his artistic talents, not just his penchant for the store’s cheese and onion slice, Emma said: “We knew about the caricatures and said as a joke to Terry ‘when are you going to do one for us?’”
Of course Terry was only too happy to create this caricature of the three ladies, who all enjoy a good laugh with their shared sense of humour.
Margaret and Vicky live in Old Somerby and Grantham respectively with their families, while Emma, who is also from Grantham, is getting married next year.
