The Meres leisure centre provided a perfect venue for a truly magnificent night of quality entertainment on Friday, October 11.
The main hall was transformed into a theatre-like atmosphere and the quality of service from the staff behind the bar was quick and efficient. The show itself was full of entertainment, crowd participation and top quality talent.
Ruff ’n’ Ready, a local band, thrive on playing the best Irish music, enticing the crowd to sing and clap along.
The night wouldn’t have been complete however, without the Grantham School of Dancing Irish contingency who call themselves The Irish Wolfpack. Everything about them from the choreography to the costumes and true quality of talent those girls have, made for a wonderful evening’s entertainment.
Michelle and Anita who run the dance school should be very proud of their girls and I would like to say a big well done to them for producing top notch choreography, suitable for any London West End show.
Any Irish night would not be complete without a performance of Michael Flatley’s Riverdance. We were treated to an amazing rendition of this from the band and a finale that was second to none from all the dancers. It made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and sent shivers down my spine.
If you have never been fortunate enough to see this band and the dancers perform, I would strongly recommend you put it on your ‘to do’ list, as you won’t be disappointed.
