PLANS for a multi-million pound tennis complex to be built in Grantham were given the go-ahead by South Kesteven District Council this week.
The 13-court tennis complex will be built on the site of current tennis facilities at Arnoldfield, off Gonerby Road.
The development is expected to cost £3.5 million, with funding coming from a private investor and the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).
Coun Michael King said: “I for one am convinced this will be a really welcome regional facility that will put Grantham even more on the map and help provide leisure facilities for the 7,000 new dwellings envisioned by the Grantham Area Action Plan and help attract the right kind of people to Grantham and be very good for the economy.
“This is a superb facility. The club has done well in attracting national funds from the LTA.”
