Employees at Moy Park raised money and turned out in support of their colleague Karen Parker as she had her head shaved in aid of Breast Cancer Campaign.

On Wear it Pink day (October 24) the company raised just over £400 by selling cakes and pink hair nets, as well as taking part in a tombola and guessing games, beating last year’s total.

Colleagues, friends and family turned out in support of Karen Parker.

Then the following day a group of employees made their way to Genes Barbers on Westgate where Karen Parker had her hair shaved off and raised an amazing £660.53.

Angela Aspiotis, events co-ordinator at Moy Park Sports and Social Club, said: “I would like to say a big thank you to all Moy Park employees that took part in our Breast Cancer Awareness fundraiser on site.

She added: “Also a very big thank you to the people who came along to support us on the day of Karen Parker’s head shave at Genes; to the market traders, shop owners and the good people of Grantham that donated their hard earned cash, and a special thank you must go to Ellis at Genes Barbers for allowing us to use their premises for the event and Tom for doing such a grand job.”
