TWENTY-TWO women dressed to impress for a cheeky calendar, which is set to raise hundreds for an ovarian cancer charity.

GET a sneak peek at the pin-up chicks down at the Dirty Duck in Friday’s Journal. The girls hope that by selling the calendar they will be able to raise money for Ovarian Cancer Action and increase the awareness of the disease, which kills around 4,500 women each year.

Andrea, who was diagnosed with the disease three years ago, said: “We wanted to do something to raise a smile. It’s not too saucy but it is cheeky.”

The calendar, which was shot near the Dirty Duck pub, in Woolsthorpe-by-Belvoir, pictures the women posing in ‘50s and ‘60s style costume with vintage cars and tractors. It is available for £9.99 and all the money raised goes straight to the charity.

Andrea said: “It was bitterly cold when we shot the calendar but everyone was happy to get on with it, no one was shy and it kept the photographer going all day. It was just a fantastic day.”

The calendar, which has only been on sale for around a week, has already made £370.

To get hold of a calendar, which is delivered for free in the Grantham area, call Andrea on 07512331403 or go to the Dirty Duck or Woolsthorpe-by-Belvoir village shop. The ‘pin-up girls’ will also be selling them at Sainsbury’s on October 25 and Morrisons on December 2. To find out more about the disease go to www.ovarian.org.uk
