Grantham Journal letter: Lives will be put at risk by time delays

Emergency services

Emergency services

I was horrified at the proposal of one A&E for the whole of Lincolnshire.

Instead of saving lives – as stated in the Journal report – surely because of the time delay in getting help, more people would die.

Accident and Emergency by its very name, suggests that immediate care is required.

Stroke victims, according to government advertising, have a ‘golden hour’ in which to receive medication. How can this happen if there is only one A&E throughout Lincolnshire?

Where will it be sited? How much would it cost? How many lives will be lost?

The fight continues ...
