A DOCTOR’S surgery has received a donation of £1,700 from a grateful son.

Bradley Hollingsworth of Horbling lost his mother in August 2010 to cancer but was so impressed with the care his mum received from the district nurses in Billingborough that he wanted to give something back.

Proud dad John Hollingsworth said: “He wanted to raise funds to give something back to the community and came up with the idea of a sky dive.

“It was his own idea to do it and so far he has raised around £1,700 through the sky dive alone.”

Springwells Medical Practice was delighted to be the beneficiary.

Practice manager Chris Schofield said: “It’s fantastic that we have raised so much money and we can definitely put it to some good use purchasing medical equipment for patients.

“It is a large amount so we are obviously very, very pleased.”

The sky dive was Bradley’s first but he is already planning another for later this year - along with his dad.

John Hollingsworth said: “Bradley thoroughly enjoyed it and is looking forward to doing another one.

“Hopefully, I’m going to do one with him later this year.”
