Is there someone at Grantham Hospital you feel is an unsung hero, or someone who shows real dedication?
If the answer is ‘yes’ you might consider nominating them for an award.
The United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust has launched its first annual Staff Awards scheme to celebrate the outstanding achievements of staff members.
There are 10 award categories in total with members of the public being invited to nominate in four of them, including ‘Compassion and Respect Towards Others’, ‘Unsung Heroes’, ‘Extra Mile Award’ and ‘Fantastic Customer Service’.
Chief executive Jane Lewington said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to recognise and reward the hard work of our staff. Public nominations mean we can really get to the heart of where great care has been delivered.
“We want to hear from those who believe a member of staff has made a real difference to their care. It could be something as simple but as important as sharing a smile or something as detailed as changing the way a service is provided.
“All staff can be included, whether they are nurses, doctors, therapists, administrative staff, porters, housekeepers and caterers.”
To nominate, visit www.ulh.nhs.uk or pick up a nomination form from the hospital. The closing date for nominations is Friday, December 6.
All entries will be assessed by a shortlisted panel and will be put forward to a judging panel by the end of December.
Winners will be recognised at an award ceremony in February 2014 sponsored by NL Managed Services.
