The United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust says it has no plans to close the critical care unit at Grantham Hospital.
In a statement following the trust’s board meeting on Tuesday, it said: “There are no plans to close CCU at Grantham but all health and social care organisations across Lincolnshire are currently working together as part of the Sustainable Services Review to identify how services are arranged to best meet the needs of patients. The review is in response to national changes across the NHS, and has been commissioned by the clinical commissioning groups and local authority in Lincolnshire.
“The review is in its early stages and in October a health and social care summit was held. More than 300 clinicians and representatives from patient and public groups across the county have been involved in discussing initial ideas for patient pathways around four areas of preventative care, urgent care, planned care and women’s and children’s care.”
