The second Very Amazing Pink Ribbon Race will take place in Grantham on Sunday, July 17, starting in Wyndham Park.

The race starts at 9.30am, with registration from 8.30am. Described as ‘more than a walk, more than a run’, participants in this event can choose to cover distances ranging from 5km to a half-marathon, making it suitable for all ages and levels of fitness.

The circular route is mostly on off-road paths, including a number of parks. Back at Wyndham Park the event includes a series of fun treasure hunt-style challenges and everyone can have a go on the pink spacehoppers which proved to be a major attraction last year.

You can enter as a team or an individual and take along supporters.

All funds raised from the event will support vital research projects backed by the charity Breast Cancer Now.

Entrants are encouraged to wear pink – wigs, tutus or other items of clothing.

You can register for the event at advance entry rates of £15 for adults and £10 for juniors, and post-event catering will be available at £5 per head.

For more information or an entry form go to the event Facebook page, follow

The event is organised by Sue Stannard, of Caythorpe, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011 and has been receiving treatment since.
