Family support service Home-Start are launching their Snowflake Appeal for vulnerable children for the first time this year.

Home-Start Grantham trains volunteers who visit 113 families in the area needing extra support.

Scheme manager Sarah High said: “The snowflake was chosen because its unique and fragile like the children.”

Snowflake badges are being sold for suggested donations at Sainsbury’s, Santandar, Co-Op Travel in Downtown, Great Gonerby Post Office and Home-Start in the Autumn Park Business Centre.

There will be a snowflake-themed stall at this Sunday’s Christmas market, before a coffee morning on Thursday for businesses interested in getting involved.

With Co-Op Travel they are also currently running their Toy Suitcase Appeal, so customers can donate toys at Downtown. For more go to www.homestartgrantham.org.uk or call 01476 515310
