YOUNGEST pupils of Charles Read Academy raised money for children affected by floods in the Phillipines which struck just before Christmas last year.
Year 7 pupils of the Corby Glen school held their annual ‘Charity Day’, raising £275 which will go to help children who are living on the streets as a result of the devastating disaster. The money will be used by the Conray Rendon Charitable Trust to build an orphanage.
Year 7 co-ordinator Jenny Harris said: “We are really pleased with the amount we raised and the money is going to help the children in the Phillipines.”
As well as baking cakes to sell at break-time, the children manned stalls and organised activities.
