GENEROUS Lions have given a helping hand to another good cause this week.

The Grantham Lions Club has made a donation of £200 to Kesteven Rideability, a charity which gives disabled adults and children the chance to ride horses as a form of therapy.

Lion Godfrey Mackinder presented the donation to the group.

He said: “It’s a very good cause to support because riding teaches new skills, requires active involvement, improves balance and co-ordination, promotes independence and develops self-discipline.

“It’s also fun.”

Kesteven Rideability, based in Hough-on-the-Hill, formed in 1988 to offer subsidised riding to disabled adults and children in the area.

Over the years, the group has grown significantly from the initial four members to 50, plus day centres and schools use the facilities.

As well as the therapeutic benefits, riders can also go on to compete in riding competitions.
