In 1902, the date mentioned in last week’s Journal story about Andy Murray’s relations living in what is now Bindi restaurant, there was a G. W. Golding living at 22 London Road who was an auctioneer and valuer - the founder of Goldings Estate Agents.
The address 22 London Road in 1902 was situated on the east side of London Road between College Street and Oxford Street where Harris’ Bed Shop now is. By 1911 G. W. Golding had moved to 38 Westgate. London Road was re-numbered in about 1924 when all odd numbers were then on the east side and even numbers were on the west side.So I do not think that Andy Murray’s great-great-grandmother ever lived at Bindi’s restaurant.
