Grantham councillor’s tweet is so refreshing

I refer to your story last week about a councillor who tweeted a message during a full council meeting. What a pleasure it was to see a councillor actually telling the truth. Well put and well said Cllr Ashberry.

Problems with Grantham mail collection

Apart from the long queue often encountered at Grantham Post Office, my problem is the inaccessability of the postbox after hours.

Hospital campaign: We’ll go to No 10 again

In The Journal Letters page on May 4 Linda Jones raised concerns at the ineffectiveness of Shaping Health representatives in opposing changes or cuts to our local hospital services.

Paul Lewis was a great nurse manager of Grantham Hospital

I am writing in response to the negative letter regarding Paul Lewis’ position as nurse manager, headlined “Staff have a responsibility to move forward” (Journal, April 6).

I was very upset by a television news report about a cancer sufferer was was twice turned down by the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham through lack of beds.

Cliffedale Chandlers Table Tennis Club would like to say thank you to everybody who kindly donated to our club whilst we were bag packing in Morrisons Supermarket on Saturday. We raised £980 which will go towards much needed new equipment for the club. It was a very enjoyable day and the children will benefit greatly from the amount of money raised.

Devastated by Witham pollution

Absolute devastation is the only way to describe my feelings after pollution of the River Witham upstream of Grantham caused the loss of so many wild brown trout.

Surely Army drivers should be trained with tankers

When I wrote first about the army lorry drivers I did not know they were training to be tanker drivers.

How can hospital services reduce when town is growing?

I READ in the Journal about “Fears for loss of Grantham maternity” then turned the page to another article “4,000 homes for south of town.”

Another service in Grantham is lost

Grantham Wheelchair Services are no more, either.

I have recently been discharged from Grantham hospital after a two-week stay following a major operation.

As president of the Grantham Saturday Football League, I write to express my huge disappointment in the lack of coverage afforded by the Grantham Journal on Beehive United winning the Lincolnshire County Junior Cup last Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Boston United’s ground.

I HAVE just spent three weeks on Ward 6 of Grantham Hospital and I would like to say thank you to the doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists and auxilliaries.

Squirrel should have been picked up

I TELEPHONED South Kesteven District Council’s waste department to report a squirrel which had been hit by a car.
