Grantham Journal letter: I have to ask - does it really pay to work?

HAVING read the letter “Immigrants better off than pensioners” (Journal, August 24), if that weekly allowance is right - £250 - they get more money than me and I work 38 hours per week. Plus, if you take the immigrants’ income per year - £29,000 - they nearly treble my yearly income.

Doesn’t this Government say it pays to work? They must be having a laugh! And is this why Britain is so much )in debt?
