Grantham Journal Letter: Spire appeal balloon race
Three hundred balloon tickets were purchased for the balloon race on September 8, in aid of St Wulfram’s Spire Appeal.
We would like to thank everyone who supported this happy event and all those who bought a balloon.
The balloon that travelled the furthest was returned from North Hykeham, near Lincoln, and this was bought by Sarah Bellamy, who lives locally, on her sixth birthday. A lucky day obviously! So she is our worthy winner of a cheque for £50.
She recently called in at the church to give back part of her prize to the appeal. How generous an act was that! So indeed have been the many messages of support that the appeal has received from local people. Thank you.
