What was this songbird?
Recently I was in my garden at dusk when I heard an incredibly beautiful birdsong.
I am reasonably knowledgeable about garden birds and have listened to the song thrush many times. This song had all the variety of the thrush but seemed much sweeter. It also included a robin-like trill, which I have never heard from a thrush.
Is there an expert among your readers who can give an opinion? I have not heard it since, so it may have been passing through. I live on Westerdale Road and this was over towards the Ruskin Academy and the hospital ... but I have ruled out a Florence Nightingale!
