Whether you are interested in visiting a nature reserve and going for a spot of fishing, or you'd prefer some windsurfing, cycling or canoeing, Rutland Water has something for everyone.

Whether you are interested in visiting a nature reserve and going for a spot of fishing, or you'd prefer some windsurfing, cycling or canoeing, Rutland Water has something for everyone.Based around the five villages of Edith Weston, Egleton, Empingham, Hambleton and Whitwell, Rutland Water has a shoreline of 25 miles and is the largest manmade lake in Europe with a total area of 3,100 acres. It's so big they had to flood the village of Nether Hambleton to make way for it!

To get the best views of the reservoir a four-mile trip in The Rutland Belle is recommended. The boat sets off from the Whitwell Harbour.
