Age UK is calling for people in Grantham to get ready for the summer and clear out their wardrobes and donate clothes they no longer wear to the charity shop in Grantham.
The shop is in need of any unwanted clothes, accessories, CDs, DVDs and household items to be re-sold by Age UK.
Money raised by Age UK’s shops helps the charity to deliver hands-on local services and important national work like its free advice line (open 365 days a year) and vital campaigning work. Age UK works tirelessly to influence politicians and decision makers on issues that affect older people every day, such as pensions, care provision and fuel poverty.
Age UK can collect donations as well as take bags through the door. If you have a number of bags to donate, the charity can arrange a house collection from dedicated stock collectors. Call 01476 590679 to arrange a collection.
Donations can be maximised by signing up to gift aid which means Age UK will receive an extra 25p for every £1 that is raises from donations from the government.
Kay, Shop Manager for Age UK’s shop in the Market Place, Grantham, said: “When you are sorting through last season’s wears, please donate any unwanted items in preparation you have to Age UK. We are desperately in need of clothes, accessories and household items. All donations can make such a huge difference, because anything we cannot sell we recycle so nothing is wasted.”
