Aircraft forced to land in a field near RAF College Cranwell
A Tutor aircraft was forced to land in a field near RAF College Cranwell.
An aircraft was forced to land close to an airfield at at RAF College Cranwell this afternoon (Wednesday).
The RAF base has confirmed that the Tutor aircraft, which was based at Cranwell, came down at 12.25pm in a field by the A17.
RAF personnel have cordoned off the area and are securing the aircraft.
A spokesman said: “The initial assessment is that the aircraft has suffered some damage.
“There were two people on board, both of whom are uninjured. The aircraft was on a routine training sortie.
“Civilian fire tenders and RAF College Cranwell medical personnel attended the incident.
“An investigation into the incident will be carried out.”
