Ancaster schoolboy Sam wins competition with ‘Dragonfly’ story

An 11-year-old pupil of Ancaster Primary School has won a creative writing competition.

Sam Holmes won the competition, organised by Grantham Writers, with a story called Brad the Dragonfly.

The Primary Schools Creative Writing Competition was organised by the Grantham group to encourage new young writers.

Sam received a book token and the school also received a prize of £40 worth of book tokens.

The presentation was made by Ian Maber and Hilary Crossley, of Grantham Writers, in a school assembley, and Hilary read Sam’s story to the children.
