The Meres Leisure Centre is set to benefit from the artistic flare of Grantham College art students.
Higher National Diploma students at the college have been given the brief to create a mural for the leisure centre’s corridors which captures the history and community spirit of Grantham.
The eight-week project is already underway and once completed each of the college’s submissions will be judged by a panel of councillors and the centre’s management.
Then the winning designs will be installed in the corridors that connect the two main areas of the centre in a month’s time.
Kevin Grant, contract manager at Grantham Meres Leisure Centre, said: “We are extremely excited about this project. It is a fantastic way to connect with the wider community.
“Our aim is to engage with people within the community, helping to enhance lives through sport, leisure, health and wellbeing, therefore, we’re looking for art that encapsulates this.”
