Assault of bus driver on Grantham High Street

Police are appealing for information after a bus driver was assaulted in Grantham yesterday.

Lincolnshire Police received a report at around 11.50am on Tuesday, June 3, that a man had got onto a bus as it pulled into a bus stop on the High Street and assaulted the driver.

The male bus driver was taken to Lincoln County Hospital to be treated for bruising and a cut to his face.

After the assault the offender got off the bus and headed in the direction of King School, then returned to the vehicle to collect his mobile phone before heading off again, this time in the direction of Finkin Street.

The suspect is described as being a white man, aged in his late 20s, with short dark hair, and wearing blue jeans and a blue or black hooded top with white trainers.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who knows the man described, is asked to contact Lincolnshire Police on 101 quoting incident 189 of 03/06/2014.
