A barbershop in Grantham is backing the Grantham Hospice £1 in the Pot appeal by holding a 24-hour barberthon during the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
Genes Barbers, in Narrow Westgate, will open for business at 7am on Saturday, April 19, and close at 7am the following morning. Fifty per cent of the money raised will go to the appeal, which focuses on supporting day therapy at the Barrowby Road hospice. Three members of staff – owner Ellis Brown, Tom Gibson and Tom Swingler – will be there all day and night. They decided to support the hospice appeal because several family members and friends have used the palliative care offered there due to suffering from serious illness. Customers can book a half-hour slot at the Genes by calling 01476 978212.
