BELTON House unveiled a brand new play area which will be enjoyed by children all year-round

The new indoor Ride Café and Play Area have brought with them a fantastic opportunity for families who can now make the most of Belton, rain or shine.

Although indoor, the design for the play area takes its inspiration from “bringing the outdoors in” and the play equipment reflects features unique to Belton house, including the Belmont Tower, the Boathouse and the giant beehives.

Alec Gordon, General Manager for Lincolnshire National Trust said: “The ideas for the Ride Café and the Play Area have been inspired by our visitors.

“We spoke to many families last year and the overwhelming response was ‘please let’s have something unique to Belton, that reflects its special features’.”

Families visiting the play area can look forward to features such as the Belmont Tower slide and the rope walkways.

Inside the play area, at a push of a button, they will also be able to hear and smell the outdoors as scents and sounds include honey, freshly cut grass and buzzing bees.

Mary Kindred, Visitor Services Manager, said: “We are delighted to have it.”

There is no additional charge to use the new areas and admission to the grounds enables visitors to take advantage of the other attractive features Belton House has to offer.

These include the Adventure playground, 36 acres of garden and the second-hand bookshop.

The house is open from March 14 to November 4, Wednesday to Sunday (also open Bank Holiday Monday and Jubilee Tuesday) from 12.30pm until 5pm.
