Bigamy charge for man who wed at Belton Woods Hotel in Grantham
A BIGAMY charge is faced by a man alleged to have got married at a Grantham hotel while already wed to another woman.
Sean Hitchin, of Mewburn in North Bretton, Peterborough, appeared at Grantham Magistrates’ Court on Monday, where he entered no plea to the allegation of bigamy.
The 47-year-old is accused of going through a formal marriage at Belton Woods Hotel near Grantham on September 24
last year.
Hitchin was granted unconditional bail to return to the magistrates’ court on October 29 for commital to crown court as magistrates declined to hear the case because it is too serious for their sentencing powers.
