Boost your CV by volunteering

STUDENTS who are hoping to get into university could improve their CV by volunteering.

Grantham Volunteer Centre, on the first floor in the George Shopping Centre offers individuals the opportunity to develop new skills, gain valuable work experience and allows you the opportunity to try out different volunteering roles to discover what career suits you.

And with university places scarce, having volunteering on your CV could be the crucial difference that makes you stand out among other candidates.

Sports projects, volunteering with children, arts and crafts, office and administration tasks, environmental schemes, mentoring, IT, disability, music and volunteering with animals are just a few of the diverse range of volunteering opportunities available in the Grantham area.

David Slaughter, South Kesteven Volunteering Support Officer said:“Here at the Volunteer Centre we have an exciting range of volunteering opportunities to suit all interests, and the process couldn’t be simpler. You can either drop into our office or call to make an appointment, you’ll then meet with an advisor for an informal chat where we will try and match you with the right volunteering role, tailored to your individual skills and interests.”
