Civil parking enforcement for Lincolnshire moves a step closer to reality
PARKING enforcement powers are expected to be handed to Lincolnshire County Council on November 30 - but it is not clear when these powers will be put to use.
The Department for Transport has confirmed to LCC that legal checks on its application for civil parking enforcement (CPE) are complete. In the meantime, existing traffic restriction signs and lines are being checked for compliance with CPE legislation.
Once the local authority uses its powers, schemes such as residents-only parking can be considered.
A consultation on a draft policy covering on-street resident parking schemes in South Kesteven began this week, involving residents groups, police and highways.
Details of the CPE will be discussed at a Communities Policy Development Group at SKDC this afternoon.
