Swapping the shopping aisles for sunny skies, colleagues from the Grantham branch of Morrisons have taken part in charity parachute jumps.

Staff from the supermarket have made the brave leap 14,000 feet out of plane in aid of hospice and neurological care providers Sue Ryder.

The charity is paired with Morrisons in its Raise a Smile partnership, which aims to raise funds for community services, family support teams and the best possible end of life care.

The Grantham branch’s community champions for the cause Elaine Ryman and Amy Bradley were joined by colleagues Gabriella Hillier and Helen Slight in doing the tandem parachute jump at Langar Airfield, and consequently raised £3,400.

Elaine said: “It was absolutely brilliant - amazing! And I actually didn’t find it that scary.”

Meanwhile another staff member from the Grantham store, Ann Burkitt, joined Sue Mitchell from the Downham Market Morrisons in a tandem skydive at Headcorn Airfield in Kent.
