Last week members of Lincolnshire Police’s crime reduction team spent the day at the Antiques Roadshow at Belton House discussing safety and security with visitors.
Crime reduction tactical advisors Sally Picker and Alex Parkin set up a Lincolnshire Police tent at the venue, where they spoke to thousands of members of the public who were at the country house near Grantham to watch the action and get some of their prized possessions valued.
Sally said: “It’s been a fantastic experience being here today and a great opportunity for members of the public to pick our brains about crime prevention. By the end of the day we’d spoken to thousands of people and my voice was nearly gone!
“We’ve been talking about property marking, insecurities with this nice warm weather, and we’ve also spoken about lots of different types of products that are on the market from alarms to CCTV, and generally have raised the profile of people considering their security at home.”
