The second Danny Walsh Memorial Fun Day took place at Harrowby United FC at the weekend and raised £906 for the air ambulance charity.

Friends of Dan played a match at noon in which the Whites beat the Blues 6-4, and at 3pm a match organised by Adam Grant and Mick Gray was played between Long-necks (one of Danny’s nicknames) and Warthogs, who won 6-1.

Children enjoyed a bouncy castle and Dave and Hayley organised a barbecue with all proceeds going to the air ambulance.

Nearly 300 people attended the day. Ruff and Ready and Amanda Gee provided the entertainment. A raffle raised further funds for charity.

One of the organisers, Trevor Fox, said: “We would like to thank everyone who took part in any way.”

Danny died in July last year aged 30.
