A much-loved pet was stolen from its kennel in the Vale of Belvoir.
Holly, a seven-year-old springer spaniel, was taken from her home in Eastwell Road, on the outskirts of Knipton, last night (Sunday), leaving her owner Linda Wealthall heartbroken.
Mrs Wealthall had taken Holly for a walk yesterday evening before putting her to bed in her kennel in the garden. When she went out to exercise her this morning, the kennel clasp was on the floor and Holly was missing.
Mrs Wealthall said: “There’s no way she could have got out of the kennel on her own. She’s a very friendly dog and would go with anyone, whereas our older dog, Penny, would go crazy if anyone went into her kennel.
“It’s really upsetting.”
The Wealthall family has been out and about putting up posters, calling in at Post Offices and shops, and they have reported the incident to the police and dog warden.
Holly, a small dog, is liver and white in colour, mostly white to her body and with a large brown spot on her left-hand side. She has a head and a white nose, and is microchipped and recently spayed.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
Anyone who has seen her wandering around is asked to call Mrs Wealthall on 01476 879281 or 07717 685656.
