‘Don’t give out bank details’ warn police following incidents in Great Gonerby

Residents are advised to be wary if approached by a man claiming to be collecting for servicemen who have served in Afghanistan.

Police received reports on Tuesday of a man knocking on doors in Great Gonerby and asking for bank details. He claimed to be collecting money to support RAF servicemen.

He is described as of mixed raced, smartly dressed and in his late 20s. He carried with him printed forms in order to set up direct debits.

Officers are advising residents not to give out any bank details.

Suspicious activity should be reported to police on the non-emergency 101 number. Anyone with information on this particular incident is asked to call and quote incident number 463 of May 13.
