Drunk driver was stopped in South Witham
A MAN who admitted drink driving faces a trial after denying a second charge of driving without insurance.
Rodney Ebbitt of Clabby Road, Fivemiletown, County Tyrone, was stopped by police while driving along Broadgate Road in South Witham in a Jeep Cherokee. He was tested and found to have 54mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood.
Ebbitt provided an insurance document in court; however, the Crown Prosecution Service refused to accept it. Ebbitt was told he must prove he was using the vehicle for agricultural purposes at the trial.
The trial was set for November 23 at Grantham Magistrates’ Court. Ebbitt was given an interim driving ban and unconditional bail.
