An employee of Halifax Bank in Grantham appeared before the town’s magistrates today accused of stealing about £20,000 over a period of 12 months.
Jason Thurlby, of Manners Road, Balderton, Newark, is accused of the theft of about £20,000 cash between June 20, 2012 and June 28, 2013 from the bank. He is also accused of one count of theft of cash, amount unknown, on June 20, 2013, from the bank and another charge of theft, including theft by finding, from the bank on June 27, 2013.
The 24-year-old made no plea in court. Magistrates decided the case was serious enough to send to Lincoln Crown Court where Mr Thurlby will appear on February 24 for a plea and case hearing. He was granted unconditional bail.
