Burglars rammed the car of a businessman who raced to his premises when an intruder alarm was set off last night (Tuesday).
When the owner of Lawnmower Services Ltd, in Wellingore, got to the scene, the gang had already loaded 19 high-value lawnmowers into a van.
They rammed his car to get away and made off in what police believe was a Mini Cooper. The van containing the machines was left behind. The owner was not hurt, but his car was damaged.
The incident took place at around 10.30pm at the store in Grantham Road.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen a Mini or a van in the area before the incident, or the Mini travelling at speed after the incident, to get in touch. Officers also want anyone with any information on the offenders to get in touch with them as soon as possible.
DI Suzanne Davies said: “This is a very serious incident and we are urging anyone with any information to call us.”
