Shoppers are being asked to donate a Christmas present which will go to families support by Home-Start in Grantham.

The charity, now based in the Autumn Park Business Centre in Dysart Road, is working with the branch of Lincolnshire Co-op Travel in the Downtown Garden Centre to ensure all youngsters receive a present this Christmas.

A ‘Santa’s Suitcase’ is on show at the Downtown branch, where generous shoppers can place a toy. The collected toys will then be distributed by Santa to the children at the annual Home-Start Christmas party.

Charity scheme manager Sarah High said: “We really appreciate the Co-op Travel’s support. This Christmas in particular there are going to be some families that will really find it hard to pay heating bills, buy food and buy presents for their children, so it’s fantastic to know that there are people in the local community willing to support us in making sure local children have a happy Christmas.”
