A psychiatric report was ordered by magistrates on a man who has admitted shop thefts and racially aggravated harassment.
Stuart Leon Hodgkin, 39, of Great Northern Court, Grantham, admitted stealing cider worth £23.90 from McColl’s store in Grantham on January 27 and stealing vodka worth £12.99 from B&M Bargains on January 18.
Hodgkin also pleaded guilty to racially or religiously aggravated harassment in Guildhall Street, Grantham, on February 20 and, on the same date, to the theft of toiletries worth £60.99 from Boots in Grantham High Street. Hodgkin also admitted being drunk and disorderly in New Street, Grantham on February 8.
The defendant is also charged with three offences committed in Basingstoke, Hampshire, in February. He is accused of two counts of using threatening words or behaviour and one of racially aggravated harassment.
Magistrates ordered a psychiatric assessment of Hodgkin and adjourned the case to May 14 for sentencing. They granted Hodgkin bail on condition he lived at Great Northern Court, abided by a curfew between 7pm and 7am and did not enter any retail premises, except Asda.
