A man who has admitted a string of theft and harassment offences said wearing his electronic tag is “embarrassing”.

Giles Tyas, representing Stuart Leon Hodgkin, 39, of Great Northern Court, Grantham, said his client wanted the court to change the conditions of his bail and take the tag away.

Mr Tyas told the court that Hodgkin said “wearing the tag is embarrassing”, but the magistrates decided not to change the conditions of his bail.

Hodgkin is accused of stealing cider worth £23.90 from McColl’s store in Grantham on January 27, stealing vodka from B&M Bargains in Grantham on January 18, and stealing toiletries worth £60.99 from Boots in Grantham on February 20. He is also accused of being drunk and disorderly in the town on February 8 and of racially aggravated harassment in Guildhall Street, Grantham, on February 20.

The case was adjourned on March 17 for medical and psychiatric reports to be prepared.
