A teenager was remanded in custody after he denied stealing a laptop from a house in Grantham.

Devoney Campbell, 19, formerly of Harrowby Close, Grantham, is accused of the burglary of a house in Alexandra Road and stealing the Toshiba laptop on January 18. He appeared in custody before Grantham magistrates.

Stuart Wild, representing Mr Campbell, told the court that his client had only recently been given permission to stay in the UK and that if convicted he faced being deported.

Magistrates remanded Campbell in custody.

The case was adjourned to Lincoln Crown Court on February 3.
