A group of friends has raised £1,544 for the charity Help for Heroes with a coast to coast walk and other activities.
Kev Rudkin and Gary Mahon walked the route from St Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay, about 200 miles, over 12 days in September. Other fundraising ideas included selling wristbands at the Lord Harrowby pub run by John and Lynda Senior, and Betty Jameson sold plants she has grown.
Mr Rudkin said: “We are very much in favour of our Forces, but any government does not do enough for our returning injured heroes and every bit of support they can get the better. We would like to thank all of our sponsors.”
The fundraisers have been raising money for Help for Heroes since August.
