“Wow” is the word the manager of Swimarathon used to describe the fund-raising event at the weekend.
Roger Graves is recovering from a busy weekend of Swimarathon at The Meres but found the time to tell us it was “absolutely unbelievable”.
A record 266 teams took part, made up of a record 1,610 swimmers swimming a record 36,944 lengths.
And the amount raised is expected to be in the region of £40,000, which would bring the total raised over the event’s 25-year history to almost £660,000.
Roger said: “Wow! What a wonderful three days, it was absolutely unbelievable.”
