On behalf of South Lincolnshire Blind Society I would like to thank the Rotary Club of Grantham Kesteven for their help recently in giving our sensory garden in Finkin Street a good tidy-up after the winter.
A team arrived, equipped with the necessary equipment, and made very short work of sprucing the garden up. They have undertaken this activity for us twice a year, over a number of years, and SLBS really appreciates their support in making the garden such a lovely place for sight impaired people to visit.
If anyone loves gardening, and has no garden or their own or one that is not big enough to satisfy their enthusiasm, we would welcome you as a volunteer to help maintain the sensory garden on a regular basis.
Also, we are desperately seeking a volunteer book group leader to run the Grantham Book Group for our service users. This is just a once a month commitment and is very satisfying for someone who would enjoy sharing their love of reading.
Lastly, we are holding a supermarket collection in Grantham in June. We would be so grateful if anyone could spare us a couple of hours to raise vital funds for the society. If you can help with any of these activities, please call 01476 592775.
SLBS, a registered charity, has been helping people with sight impairment for over 80 years. Our Mission Statement is to provide a service to sight impaired people that will enable them to lead independent lives. We could not carry on the level of service we do without the support of all our volunteers, many of whom have been with us for many years. A huge thank you to you all.
