Grantham KFC roadworks to last for six weeks

Waiting for Video...

Roadworks designed to make entry easier for vehicles to the planned KFC restaurant off Harlaxton Road have started.

The work began this week and is due to take sixs weeks, subject to the weather. Once it is completed work on the new KFC restaurant, on land formerly occupied by the Isaac Newton pub, will go ahead.

A section of Harlaxton Road, just north of the crossroads with Springfield Road/Trent Road, will be widened to provide an area for cars to wait before turning into the site.

Temporary four-way traffic lights will be in operation throughout the six week period. Delays are expected in the area and so drivers are advised to plan their journeys in advance.

The new drive-thru restaurant is expected to create up to 40 jobs.

Lincolnshire County Council, as the local highways authority, is responsible for monitoring the roadworks to make sure they comply with Department for Transport standards.
